MAP - Killed Saving Lives

A person standing in front of a large red public memorial wall listing the names of 1,686 Palestinian health workers killed in Gaza, installed outdoors in London.

MAP asked us to create an intervention that would cut through public fatigue and place the deliberate destruction of Gaza’s health system back into the national conversation. The challenge was to humanise scale: to show both the enormity of the loss and the individual lives behind it.

A 10-metre installation carrying 1,686 names, each one a Palestinian health worker killed since October 2023. Styled as a contemporary memorial and placed in a busy public space, Killed Saving Lives forces viewers to reckon with the fact that healthcare workers were not collateral damage - they were targeted.

Design, translation and verification were carried out in close collaboration with MAP’s Gaza, West Bank and UK teams. The final memorial was installed outside Hackney Wick station, supported by PR, photography and social distribution.
