We’re incredibly proud to share our latest campaign, created in partnership with Mencap: “Be The Yes” - a deeply moving piece of work that challenges the UK public to be the change in the lives of people with a learning disability.
Directed by the brilliant Varun Chopra and Sara Dunlop at The Corner Shop, the campaign film tells the real story of Emily, a young woman who has faced a lifetime of “no” because of her learning disability. Through powerful storytelling that blends intimate home video with striking mixed media visuals, we show the barriers she and many others continue to face and the impact that one word, “yes,” can make.
“But stories like Emily’s show how transformative a single ‘yes’ can be.” – George McCallum, Creative Director, Don’t Panic
At the heart of this work is a clear message: 1.5 million people with a learning disability live in the UK, and too many are still being excluded and overlooked. The “Be The Yes” campaign, launched as a major fundraising push for Mencap, asks the public to do more than empathise. It calls on all of us to act: donate, support, and say yes where so many others have said no.
We were inspired by the raw honesty of the lived experience groups we worked with. “No” was a word that came up time and time again. Our job was to amplify their voices with compassion, honesty and urgency.
“The film is designed as a rallying cry… to challenge assumptions, recognise the barriers, and choose to make a difference.” - Mary O’Hagan, Executive Director of Fundraising, Mencap
We're honoured to have helped bring this important story to life and deeply grateful to Emily and her family for sharing their journey. We hope it sparks reflection and, more importantly, action.
Watch the film. Share it. Be the yes.
