Climate Coalition Takes Over London—And The World

Published 12 Feb 2015 | 0 min read

If you hadn’t noticed, this is a huge week for climate change activism. The Climate Coalition has launched a major campaign ahead of Valentine’s Day, Share The Love, involving a star-studded Ridley Scott Associates-produced film and a green-themed stunt that took place across London today. The Climate Coalition is a group of over 100 organisations including CAFOD, Greenpeace, Oxfam and WWF, campaigning to make climate change a political priority. We’ve been helping them plan the stunt and promotion of its campaign video, which has been seeded across the web.

We organised a stunt for the Climate Coalition to generate a news hook for the Share The Love campaign. A troupe of green cupids traversed London interacting with commuters and other passers-by, offering information and temporary tattoos of the campaign logo. Their antics swiftly made it to the Telegraph Pictures of the Day.

This came alongside a beautifully-shot reading of Shakespeare’s Sonnet 18, recited not to a single fair maid, but to our very planet. Such familiar faces as Stephen Fry, Emilia Fox, Dermot O’Leary, Meera Syal and Raymond Blanc joined forces in the name of the Climate Coalition’s good cause. Their work has piqued the interest of numerous large publications, including the Huffington Post, Telegraph and ITV News.

The campaign is expected to gather momentum towards December’s UN Climate Talks in Paris, where world leaders have agreed to sign a global climate deal. This is the public’s chance to show they care about the environment and make these talks a pivotal moment.

Against the new finding that 1 in 4 women would avoid dating a climate skeptic, you can #showthelove this Valentine’s Day by watching, sharing and acting to save things we love being lost to climate change.
