Unison came to us to pressure the government into removing the cap on public sector pay.
The government’s long-term freeze on public sector pay was unjust and not in line with ever-increasing costs of living.
The political climate had evoked positive feelings towards public sector workers, such as firemen and paramedics, but this hadn’t inspired policy change.
We highlighted the gap between parliamentary lip service and tangible action, ensuring that this was an issue the government wouldn’t be able to talk their way out of.
